Dallyn Vail Bayles

BIO – “The Stranger”

DALLYN VAIL BAYLES is a professional actor, singer, recording artist and teacher. He understudied and performed the roles of the Phantom and Raoul in the Broadway touring company of The Phantom of the Opera, and performed internationally and throughout the United States with the Broadway tour of Les Misérables.

Dallyn has also performed leading roles in numerous theatrical productions across the country including in New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Boston. He is a member of Actors' Equity Association.

On film, Dallyn portrays Brigham Young in the upcoming film Green Flake (multiple best feature independent film award winner), and Hyrum Smith in the films Joseph Smith: The Prophet of the Restoration and Emma Smith: My Story. He is also featured in several “Mormon Messages” short films and three of the Liken the Scriptures series films.

As a concert soloist, Dallyn has performed at Carnegie Hall with several distinguished performers and musicians including Tori Kelly, Colbie Caillat, Matthew Morrison, Sierra Boggess, Hayley Westenra and other stars of stage and screen. He is a frequent guest soloist with the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square on “Music and the Spoken Word” and at other special events. Dallyn has also performed as a soloist with Broadway composer Frank Wildhorn, Emmy Award winning and Grammy-nominated composer Kurt Bestor, and with the Utah Symphony.

Dallyn has recorded three solo albums: Some Enchanted Evening, Song of Redeeming Love and Prayer; as well as a duo Christmas album, O Holy Night, with Mindy Smoot Robbins. He has recordings featured in the feature films 17 Miracles and Ephraim’s Rescue.

In addition to performing, Dallyn has worked as a director and as adjunct faculty at Brigham Young University. He completed his MFA in Musical Theatre at The Boston Conservatory, and received his BFA in Music Dance Theatre from BYU. Dallyn was honored to receive the 2017 Utah Governor’s Performing Artist Award, and the 2012 BYU Young Alumni Distinguished Service Award. He and his wife, Rachel, are the proud parents of five children.
